"Zero-distance" access to Canton enamel intangible cultural heritages
Intangible cultural heritages are the bright pearl of the splendid culture of the Chinese nation for thousands of years. Baiyun District, as a former suburb of Guangzhou, retains a wealth of intangible cultural heritages. In recent years, Baiyun District has been increasing efforts in the excavation, protection and inheritance of intangible cultural heritage projects, and bringing intangible cultural heritages into people's lives in richer forms. In the exhibition area, a "traditional craft" experience hall, Canton enamel making craft experience hall, is also set up, allowing citizens to experience and get in touch with Canton enamel at close range, and have a deeper understanding of the historical origin, development process and inheritance status quo. The inheritors of intangible cultural heritages will personally tell you the story of intangible cultural heritages, and "personally" lead you to experience the intangible cultural heritage projects.
Enamel products refer to a kind of exquisite and good-looking compound handicraft with unique shape obtained by applying crushed and ground enamel glaze on the surface of metal products made by metal processing technology, and production steps such as drying and firing. In the 16th century, enamel was introduced to China by European merchants and missionaries via the port of Guangzhou, where they set up factories to develop it. The enamel products produced in Guangzhou, commonly known as "Canton enamel", also known as "painted enamel", "miniature enamel" and "exotic porcelain", were the tribute of the imperial court at that time, which were deeply loved by the emperor. The three emperors Kangxi, Yongzheng and Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty set up palace workshop in Beijing, and sent outstanding enamel craftsmen from Guangzhou to work in Beijing for many times. Later, after the war, "Canton enamel" production craft nearly lost.
Panda Angel innovated and developed "Canton enamel" production craft. "Canton enamel revival workshop" is only a very small step in protecting intangible cultural heritages. We sincerely hope that more people can participate in the protection and inheritance of intangible cultural heritages.
